aria is a young woman of average height and pale skin. she has a slender body which has large scars running down her back due to a run in with a shadow brute from a trip to the mines. she has long, silver hair that falls down to her hips and long bangs that usually fall over her face. her silver hair is a trait that is passed down from her father's family due to their lineage. although her hairstyles and outfits may vary, she is usually seen with her hair tied up in a half-up half-down style and tied into a messy bun at the very back.her eyes have a slightly sharp shape and are usually seen with a more neutral expression to match aria's personality and long silver lashes that shadow them. her irises are a crimson red, a trait that she had inherited from her grandmother on her mother's side.her normal outfit consists of a light blue crop top and a dark short hoodie with her sleeves rolled up to her forearm, her midriff completely exposed. she wears khaki pants that go up to her shin and sneakers that go up to her ankles. her clothing style normally consists of street style and more comfortable and casual clothes. there are times where she does wear her brother's old clothes which she alters to fit her style.

aria is a quiet woman who usually comes off as standoffish and maybe a bit anti-social and cold, but in reality, she is rather laid back and normally looks out for everyone's best interests through her actions. the manner of which she speaks is usually more polite and borderline formal depending on the person she's talking to. she tends to be a rather selfless person, but to a fault and she easily panics in certain situations and tends to think the worst of herself. even despite there being people in the town saying otherwise, she sees herself as a monster and can't seem to fathom the thought of her being treated like a normal human amongst those outside of her immediate family. because of her circumstances, she finds it incredibly difficult to properly express her own emotions and can usually be seen with a stoic expression on her face that never seems to change.due to her 7-year isolation, she tends to be pretty naïve and has a habit of being pretty curious about the things going on around her. but she can be pretty intuitive and can be perceptive with certain feelings and body languages that she can catch on to.the more her bond with someone deepens, the more open her emotions become and she smiles a little more often without realizing it. however, with how close she gets to someone, her fears will constantly get the better of her. she fears the life she had before and she fears the fact that eventually, she'll do something that will make the people she cares about hate her. as much as she wants to trust them with her feelings along with her secrets, she's just as afraid to trust them with those secrets only to have those secrets used against her in the end. because of the fear of losing the people that she let get close to her, she holds a possessiveness that even she is afraid to let show.she suffers from body dysmorphia and haphephobia, a result of the bullying she had gone through. she is unable to recognize herself in the mirror and is unable to be touched without given a warning lest she lashes out due of fear.

youth.    

born as the second child of shiraishi kazuya and calista saya furukawa, her childhood was a happy one when she was being raised by two loving parents and an equally loving older brother two years her senior. her father works as a doctor while her mother was a housewife who originally helped run her father's farm. she and her brother were born with shining silver hair, which was trait that was passed down from her father's family due to an angel's lineage that has been passed down through generation after generation.calista fell pregnant with aria's little sister when she was only 8 years old. however, calista's health had grown weaker and weaker as time passed and there happened to be complications regarding whether or not she would've been able to deliver her daughter safely. despite her husband and family's protests, she decided to go through with the pregnancy, knowing full well that even if something happened to her, her family would love and care for that child even if she wasn't there. it was by aster's birth that calista had unfortunately passed away after losing too much blood. aria, at 8 years old, wasn't happy to have a little sister, maybe she did before, but the moment her mother died was when her resentment for the young child began. the funeral had been especially the hardest for her to go through, especially when the sight of her dad's tired expression along with her brother's tight hold on her hand being the one thing that she could remember. all the 8 year old aria could do was wail for her lost mother that day.despite all of that mourning, it didn't take long until her grandfather, the farmer of sea's lull farm within her mother's hometown, would follow after his daughter to heaven. having been by his bedside during his final moments, philip gave aria an envelope that he had told her not to open, informing her of his intent."there will come a day when you feel crushed by the burden of modern life...and your bright spirit will fade before a growing emptiness. when that happens, my dear kikyō, you'll be ready for this gift."life moved on, and aria had grown older, and memories of her childhood had grown vague, and her adoration for her little sister whom she intially hated grew. however, the memories of her childhood friend had begun to disappear by the time she eventually got to junior high.

junior high and isolation.    

by the time aria was in junior high, she had one friend that she was close to and a friend group she had integrated herself in. however, a part of her always knew that they had drawn a line with her, especially when it came to her unique features that made her stand out from all of them. her brother was already in his last year of junior high while she was just starting out. she had thought that she had been getting along with her friends, but that all changed by the time her 2nd year started and she had turned 13.a massive fallout between her and her friend had led to said friend being the one to spread rumors about aria to the friend group which spread to their classmates. made-up scenarios that attacked her character, existing moments that have been changed to frame aria as a terrible person, and constant attacks to her appearance and humanity. she ended up having to deal with various jeers to her character and appearance, and physical attacks against her that she would try to hide from the rest of her family. this led aria to be estranged from the rest of her classmates all the way until her 3rd year. aria grew more reluctant to speaking to others, and more withdrawn from the rest of her classmates, a far cry from the initial cheery child she had once been.the incident the inevitably solidified aria's inevitable isolation was when she was going to meet up with her brother. one of her classmates had begun pulling at her hair and insulted her, prompting her to try and defend herself with the closest thing she could get in her hand. using a pair of scissors, she tried to cut her hair loose, injuring him in the process. the blame fell on aria for injuring her classmate, and not on the classmate who had pulled her hair first. no one came to her defense, and no one spoke up against her tormentors.despite her father and brother's comfort, she completely isolated herself in her own room. so by aria's choice and kazuya's protection of his daughter, he withdrew her from her private school and enrolled her into a homeschooling program.however, the ordeal had left a severe mental wound onto aria. she couldn't handle someone's touch and with every sudden touch on her own body caused her to panic and lash out, using her hand in self-defense to slap even her own father's hand away from her body. she could no longer handle seeing her own reflection without seeing the person that her classmates had said she was: she was a monster, and she didn't deserve to be seen as human.

the move to stardew valley.    

seven years passed, and aria was already 22. her life had mostly revolved around being inside of her house a lot of the time and only occasionally going out into the city to play at the arcade, hiding her hair from the people around her. it was all a repetitive routine, and a routine that involved her rotting away in her house as much as she wanted. her sister was around the same age she was when she dropped out of school and even then, she was having a better time than she did. she was able to pass off as normal with the color of her hair and all. her brother was a working adult who helped their father support all of them, but what was she? what was she doing in her life other than just staying in her house all the time? she was nothing but a burden to her family and she knew she had to change that. she couldn't live her life just sitting around and letting her father and brother do all the work to support the entire family.it was until she found her grandfather's old letter that she had found her one and only answer. she knew she was tired of the life she was living, and she knew that she was wasting away in the city. so when she opened the letter, she had seen her grandfather's deed and his will. the fact that he had left his farm to her, the farm that him, her grandmother, mother, and uncle had all cherished and worked hard on. she knew she needed this, and she knew she needed the change more than anything. she needed to take a step towards shaping a new path for herself in life so she could help provide for herself and her family.there would be no one she knew there, and there would be no one who would insult her there, it'll just be her, the townspeople, and the nature of the valley.

aria's father. after aria decided to move, he was the first person she told. him and robin are friends through calista and remain in contact even after her passing. kazuya constantly worries about his daughter's well-being after being a witness to the aftermath of the incident that led to aria's withdrawal from school. he was a former delinquent before he met calista and currently works as a doctor in zuzu city.

aria's late mother and farmer philip's daughter. she once lived in pelican town with her parents and younger brother before she met kazuya and moved to the city. she and aria were both very close as mother and daughter, despite the latter's blurry memories of her mother. she was also robin's best friend.

aria's grandpa, calista's father, and the late farmer of sea's lull. his letter was what gave aria the push to move in to pelican town. both him along with aria and her brother all share a love for the sea and used to watch the waves when they were much younger. he left his farm to aria, knowing that she would've had the potential to run it in his place.

sebastian's mother and her mother's best friend. aria had once snapped at her during the aftermath of her mother's funeral, but doesn't exactly remember the incident nor why she had gotten mad at her. she depends on robin to handle all the building for her farm and sees her as something akin to a mother figure due to her friendship with her mother along with her willingness to help her out with various things when it comes to her work.
